Principle of Operation
Electroways (Pvt) Ltd. Battery Chargers are built with advanced technology to ensure both efficiency and protection:
Conversion & Regulation: The mains supply is stepped up or down by a transformer, rectified through a thyristor-diode bridge, and filtered before reaching the output.
Voltage Feedback: A control circuit maintains accurate output voltage by adjusting thyristor firing angles (PWM control).
Overload Protection: Another circuit monitors output current and automatically reduces output voltage if overload conditions occur, protecting the system with a “fold-back” current limiting feature.
Automatic Mode: The charger simultaneously powers the load and keeps the battery in float charge. If mains supply fails, the battery instantly takes over until power is restored, after which it automatically recharges.
Manual Mode: Operators can set the output voltage to either float or boost levels, while safety current-limiting remains active.
